2. Read “Creativity Sprouts in Knowledge Garden”.

After reading the article, create a flier to encourage classrooms to “Adopt a Plot” in the Knowledge Garden.

3. This is the map used to plan the Knowledge Garden. It represents how the garden was first planted. Look at the map closely. What do you notice and wonder? 

Can you identify ways the garden has changed over time? Create an updated map of the garden or make a Venn Diagram comparing the map to what you see today.

5. Your teacher has a list of words on the Knowledge Garden whiteboard. Practice reading them aloud with a partner. Then, take turns spelling the words.

6. It takes a lot of resources to make a garden grow. Read this letter from Mrs. Slowik and a letter from a 5th grader asking the community for gardening supplies and help.

Look around the garden and imagine what you request from the community to help grow our Knowledge Garden. Write a persuasive letter asking for what you imagined.

7. Our Knowledge Garden Shed contains all of the supplies we need for gardening. Imagine you have $100 to spend. What supplies would you buy?

Make your list of supplies and find the total. You may not spend more than $100. If you spend less, what might you do with extra funds?

8. These are photographs of the Knowledge Garden when it first started. Notice how it has changed.

What would you create to add to the Knowledge Garden? Design a sculpture, learning area, or garden.
